Welcome to Vaga Valley's Tourism Marketing Service.

In 1988 graduated from Brighton Business School with a Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Diploma of the Market Research Society and a BA Honours degree in Business Studies, specialising in Marketing with the emphasis on the leisure industry.

My first official post was as Tourism Marketing Officer for Rother District Council in East Sussex.  This involved consulting all local organisations involved in tourism in order to research and produce a ten year Tourism Marketing Plan for the Rother area which includes Bexhill, Battle and Rye whilst also managing three Tourist Information Centres and undertaking much tourism promotion work.  

Many of its proposals have now been implemented.

 

Next followed a similar Marketing Report for South Herefordshire District Council followed  by a relocation from East Sussex to the attractive market town of Ross-on-Wye, Gateway to the Wye Valley.

Here I produced:

• annual visitor guides,
• promotional leaflets,
• a range of postcards,
• promotional photography

 - in addition to staging and attending tourism promotion exhibitions and events, and liaising with organisations throughout much of South Herefordshire, the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

 

Today, I am actively involved in tourism promotion on  part-time, self-employed basis whilst also running another small business.
