Lydney Harbour on the banks of the Severn
The harbour is nearing the end of its refurbishment with new lock gates, footpaths (also suitable for wheelchairs) and pedestrian crossings over the gates. The old and the new sit comfortably alongside - rusty old winches adjacent to gleaming machinery to open the new lock gates and, along the banks of the Severn, the rusting old rails can be seen at low tide. Views stretch across the Severn towards the Berkeley Power Station opposite while to the west are the two Severn Bridges and Oldbury Power Station on the southern banks of the river.
