Haydown Forage - Barn Dried Hay

Normally we wouldn't be able to escape fast enough from the plastic-bagged, pre-packed hay (a view shared by our ever-hungry, hay-guzzling furry mob).  However, Haydown forage is the glowing exception to our rule and we cannot praise this product highly enough.

At last, we have found a source of top-quality, dust-free, barn-dried hay suitable for bunnies (who need a high-fibre diet) packed in convenient poly-bags which don't spill all over your lounge carpet or become damp if stored in an outdoor shed.

After cutting, typical 'pet shop' hay is left to dry in fields where it becomes dusty and brittle then packed tightly into branded bags where moulds and mites can develop.  Instead, Haydown hay is cut and quickly transported loose a purpose-built barn then dried with fans to keep nutrients intact while ventilation continues until it is passed through a dust-extraction system to be packed to meet orders, rather than sitting in wholesalers for months.  This method ensures it is consistently of a superb quality, free of dust, mites and mould, non-allergenic, clean, fresh, weed-free and highly palatable.

Although it is never economical to send hay by post, we are very aware that many bunny owners experience great difficulty sourcing good quality hay so offer this hay as a service and to ensure bunnies throughout the UK have access to some of the best products available.  Regrettably, we have had to mark-up the price of this hay to contribute towards the costs of making a 160 mile (yes, really!) journey to collect it from the rural Wiltshire farm which grows and packs it.

 Due to the weight of the bales, they must be ordered individually.  We can't sent two together because this will exceed the Royal Mail parcel weight limit of 20kg.
