Welcome to Vaga Valley

Publishing and Marketing

Relive past memories and plan new ones with our local area guides, packed with local information, photos and video clips to view on your computer.

Vaga Valley Publishing is based in Ross-on-Wye, the Gateway to the beautiful Wye Valley, and takes its name from the old Viking name for the River Wye - 'Vaga'.

As keen explorers of rural Britain with a keen interest in its rich heritage and natural history, we soon realised that most guidebooks give merely an overview of an area but they can't actually allow the reader to experience the area - which is why we began producing our own range of unique guides - Guides which Go Further....

We currently publish three product ranges:

bullet

Photographic Journeys - photographic souvenirs packed with large colour photographs and an overview of the area

bullet

Comprehensive Area Guides - detailed area guides to view on your computer.  Each is supplemented by photographs and gives and insight into the history and heritage of each area through to the present day

bulletSlideshows on DVD and Video CD - to watch on your television
bulletVideo CDs - to watch on your television (or computer). New for 2008!

Our Area Guides go further to explore far beyond the much-beaten path trodden by visitors armed with basic brochures or other 'paper' guides.

Instead, our guides and cameras go further - to (virtually) bring you into an area so you can actually gain a 'feel' for the area - follow a scenic drive in spectacular border  mountain scenery, beside huge reservoirs or alongside the beautiful River Wye; explore underground caves, ramble through forestry, marvel at a Norman church, walk through the ruins of a Cistercian abbey , feel the energy of a tumbling waterfall or take a stroll around a heritage site - all from your home, office or laptop computer.

Informative descriptions of each site of interest, town, village or hamlet in-between are supplemented by  photographs and video so you can experience the real sights of an area complete with the sounds of local birdsong, a rushing waterfall, trickling stream, wind rustling through trees, local accents and pans of an especially stunning landscape.

These unique guides are available on DVD to view on your computer and share far more of the towns, villages, countryside and landscapes than any conventional guidebook can.

The guides are perfect for  learning more about an area, holiday planning, choosing where to visit or reminiscing back to an earlier visit.
